We’ve transformed the grounds of Saracens Amateur rugby club through a five-year sponsorship from our Bolingbroke Park development. To celebrate, the club kicked with a special-guest event.

The club’s grounds, which are right next door to our development, were in much need of a makeover. We used a local builder to repair and renovate their grandstand, providing a new and improved structure. We also gave the club a brand new Bolingbroke Park branded scoreboard - just in time for the upcoming rugby season.

Maggie Alphonsi - former England rugby star and one of the most successful and well-known female rugby players in the UK – officially unveiled the grandstand during a testimonial day at the club that she hosted.

Past and present international players attended this high profile women’s event, along with other members of the sporting community. They took part in a ‘touch’ tournament - a rugby game where players do not tackle each other in the traditional way, but instead touch their opponents using any part of the body, clothing, or the ball - and later host a barbecue for all to enjoy. The Rugby Football Union (RFU) also presented the club with a plaque marking their official accreditation as an RFU club.

This event formed part of our wider marketing for Bolingbroke Park, which also sponsored a local Summer Arts Festival yesterday at the Chickenshed theatre.

Saracens Amateurs was founded in 1876 and has since been providing rugby sessions and training for men, women and juniors.
